Part 7 of the Series: The Garden of Prosperity — Understanding God’s Law of Seedtime and Harvest
Anyone who has ever planted a garden knows that growing the crop is only half the battle.
Seeds are planted.
Plants begin to grow.
Fruit begins to appear.
But if the garden is not protected, the harvest can be lost.
Weeds can choke the plants.
Animals can destroy the crop.
Neglect can waste what was produced.
The same principle applies to prosperity in the Kingdom of God.
It is not enough to plant seeds and experience increase. We must also learn how to guard and steward the harvest God provides.
Prosperity Requires Stewardship
One of the most important principles in the Kingdom of God is stewardship.
Stewardship means recognizing that everything we have ultimately belongs to God, and we are entrusted to manage it wisely.
Jesus emphasized this principle clearly.
Luke 16:10
“Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much.”
This verse reveals something powerful: increase follows faithfulness.
God often entrusts greater provision to people who demonstrate wisdom and responsibility with what they already have.
Prosperity without stewardship eventually disappears, but prosperity combined with stewardship continues to grow.
Protecting the Heart
Just as a garden must be protected from weeds and pests, the heart must be protected from attitudes that destroy prosperity.
Scripture warns us to guard our hearts carefully.
Proverbs 4:23
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Greed, pride, and selfishness can quickly corrupt what God intended to bless.
This is why prosperity must always remain connected to humility and gratitude toward God.
When the heart stays aligned with God, the harvest remains healthy.
The Danger of Forgetting God
One of the greatest dangers that comes with increase is forgetting the source of the blessing.
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly reminded His people to remember that He was the one who provided their prosperity.
Deuteronomy 8:18
“Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.”
This verse reminds us that success and increase are not ultimately the result of our own strength or intelligence.
God is the one who provides opportunity, ability, and provision.
When we remember this truth, prosperity remains healthy and life-giving.
Wise Use of the Harvest
In a garden, not every piece of fruit is eaten immediately. Some of the harvest is preserved. Some seeds are saved for future planting.
The same wisdom applies to finances.
Healthy stewardship often includes:
• saving for the future
• investing wisely
• continuing to give generously
• avoiding wasteful decisions
These practices help ensure that the harvest continues to grow rather than disappear.
Prosperity With Purpose
God’s desire is not simply to give people resources. His desire is to create people who can manage those resources with wisdom and generosity.
When prosperity is combined with stewardship, something powerful happens.
The harvest becomes sustainable.
Instead of temporary success followed by loss, the blessing continues to grow over time.
This is how God builds stability in the lives of His people.
The Garden That Lasts
A wise gardener protects what grows.
They remove weeds.
They guard the plants.
They care for the soil.
Because they understand something important: a garden that is protected will continue producing fruit year after year.
The same is true in the Kingdom of God.
When we guard our hearts, remember God as our source, and steward His blessings wisely, the harvest continues to flourish.
Looking Ahead
Even with faithful stewardship, many people struggle with a hidden obstacle that can quietly sabotage prosperity.
It is not a financial problem.
It is a mindset problem.
In the next part of this series, we will explore how to break one of the most powerful barriers to prosperity in the Kingdom of God:
the spirit of lack.
Love Always,
A Grateful Gardener
